Episode 24 The Man of the Year
TRACK 1:
"Pioneers" - Bloc Party listen/buy
scene: The song plays before the opening credits as we see Ryan beating up Volchok in a frenzy and then driving him to hospital. The song plays again when Volchok smashes the car window, jumps in and drives off with the police giving chase and Ryan backs off and runs into the woods.

"California" (opening titles) - Phantom Planet listen/buy
scene: Opening credits
TRACK 3:
"Pioneers" - Tunng listen/buy
scene: This version of the song first plays as Ryan is driving Volchok to the hospital. It plays again when Volchok is brought into the hospital and Ryan is left leaning on the van in the car park. The song also plays at the end of the episode when Seth is taken away from the Newport Bay Yacht Club in handcuffs by the police
TRACK 4:
"Some You Give Away" - La Rocca listen/buy
scene: Ryan buys Marissa breakfast at the diner and Summer and Seth are in his room where Summer tries to make a confession but fails
TRACK 5:
"Spaceship" - The Vines listen/buy
scene: Seth cancels dinner with Summer to look after Kirsten after he realises she's started drinking again. He goes to his room and takes out his pot but doesn't smoke it. Meanwhile Marissa puts her plan into action at Kaitlin's school. The song plays again when Kirsten goes into Seth's room and they come clean about the drinking and Brown. Seth is still upset with Sandy, but Kirsten persuades him to go to Sandy's "Man of the Year" presentation
TRACK 6:
"Cherry Bomb" - The Runaways listen/buy
scene: Marissa initiates her plan of action to get Kaitlin out of trouble and saunters across the campus dressed as a student on her way to meet Trevor
TRACK 7:
"Flames Go Higher" - Eagles of Death Metal listen/buy
scene: Marissa ties Trevor up in the store cupboard in preparation for her "striptease". She steals his keys, leaves him in the cupboard and locks the door on her way out
